Interactive Mapping
The Interactive Mapping Site has been developed to provide internet-accessible on-screen mapping capabilities
for a series of map layers. ArcIMS mapping was done through a partnership between the Wisconsin State Herbarium,
University of Wisconsin - Madison, and the Aquatic and Terrestrial Resources Inventory (ATRI), Bureau of Endangered
Resources, WDNR.

Comprehensive Planning
How we use land and the land use decisions we make today are perhaps the most important, long-term environmental
issues facing Wisconsin. The vast majority of land in Wisconsin is, and will remain, privately owned. Individual
landowners and developers and local governments are the principal land use decision-makers. In order to be
successful in addressing environmental concerns, the DNR must work with others to help guide development patterns
that maintain Wisconsin's character and minimize negative environmental effects.

Pensaukee Watershed
Located near the southern end of Green Bay, the Pensaukee River watershed contains many productive intermittent
streams and wetlands that have never been mapped. These areas (also called low-order streams) are often overlooked,
yet they provide critical habitat for many aquatic and riparian plant and animal species. Low-order streams also
protect and enhance water quality, control flooding, and maintain groundwater supplies.
